| dc.description.abstract | In this video Jabaar Mohamed, the only deaf person in a family of seven, spells out the differences between growing up in a hearing community versus a Deaf community. He tells his experience as a Deaf learner in primary school and how he learned sign language. He highlights the impact of a role model in the life of a deaf person and also talks about the barriers to education and employment Deaf/deaf people face.
